Catching Fire

Suzanne Collins - Catching Fire Suzanne Collins - Catching Fire
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

Review: I hate stupid perfect Peeta. Okay, I just had to get that out of the way, now I'm ready to say nice things about this book. I really love the giant totalitarian governments that seem to exist so much in the future and I always support their goal rather than reform the main character strives for. This series is an exception. In this book I found myself hating The Capitol and hoping for full scale riots. This book also proved to me what a great character Katniss is. She is very flawed, but even though she can be pigheaded and her actions are just crazy I'm still rooting for her. The Games in this book were vastly different from the first book and it was very interesting to see what the game makers had come up with. The ending was a big surprise too and I cannot believe it'll be another year until the third book!

Overall: 4/5

I haven't read this yet, and I bought it on the day it came out... go figure...

But seeing that you liked it so much gives me hope that I'll love it. Since we have very similar taste in books.

So very glad that you're reading this series!
